We all have a story.

Here is a bit of mine.

My name is Kynan O’Rourke.I did not grow up on
Tsawwassen First Nation lands. It was not until my
father reunited with his birth mother, Dorothy
Williams (nee Rice), that we discovered the
community and a deep connection to the land she
called home. Both my father and grandmother have
since passed, and there is still much of their story we
will never know.

The hardships my parents endured taught me the
value of hard work, honouring my roots and caring
for others. I am grateful for the sacrifices of those
who came before me, and I strive to make them proud.

Being a TFN member and sharing that connection
with my children and grandchildren is an honour I do
not take for granted.

I want to give back to the community and help
ensure no one is left behind. Every member
deserves to feel heard, supported and valued,
whether they live on or off lands.

Our stories may be different, but every story matters.
Together, we can build a safe, respectful and
inclusive community where everyone has the
opportunity to thrive, our Elders are cared for, and
future generations can carry our story forward with
pride.
